Why we're No 1 for businesses

Businesses have a greater chance of raising the investment they need with Crowdcube than any other platform. Have a question? Take a look here.

  • You don't have to bring your own crowd (but it helps). Each month around 65% of investments are from existing investors.

  • Largest, most active seed investor network in Europe

We have over 270,000 registered investors and receive around 1,000 investments and £1 million per week from our mix of everyday and more sophisticated investors. We're proud to have been named the UK's 'most active seed investor' in 2013 and 2014.

  • Greater Chance of Success

We funded more investment in 2014 than our nearest competitor has in over two years. What's more, we currently fund 60% companies that list on Crowdcube making us the number one place for you to get the funding you need.

  • Open to Everyday and Professional Investors
  • Open to everyday and professional investors

Our founding philosophy was to allow ordinary people to be able to invest alongside professional investors. This pioneering principle is as important now as the day we launched; a fact that still distinguishes us from some other platforms and angel networks that restrict investments to professional, high net worth and sophisticated investors only.

  • Investor Relations Portal

We make managing your investors simple and hassle free with our Investor Relations Portal that will enable you to communicate, poll and update your investors with minimal fuss.

  • Get follow-on funding

Dozens of our funded businesses have gone on to secure follow-on investment from VCs, angel investors and back on Crowdcube, with 30 successfully returning to our crowd for further investment.

  • No hidden fees

At Crowdcube, we pioneered 'success-based' pricing so you only pay when you've hit your equity funding target. The reason is simple: as an entrepreneurial businesses ourselves, we were frustrated by the up-front fee culture that existed and wanted to change things for the better. On top of that, this ideology applies equally to investors too, so you won't see us putting them off investing in you by sneaking in extra fees, either upfront or when you exit your business in the future. You can see our fees here.

  • More than money

It's commonplace for our entrepreneurs to benefit from the wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience of our investor community, many of whom are interested in helping businesses, like yours, succeed. Whether it's as an informal advisor, non-executive director, manager or mentor, the extra advice and support can often be invaluable on your company's journey.

Investing in start-ups and early stage businesses involves risks, including illiquidity, lack of dividends, loss of investment and dilution, and it should be done only as part of a diversified portfolio. Crowdcube is targeted exclusively at investors who are sufficiently sophisticated to understand these risks and make their own investment decisions. You will only be able to invest via Crowdcube once you are registered as sufficiently sophisticated.
