TRIBE on a mission: 5 moments that defined our brand

Since the last Crowdcube fundraise in May 2017, TRIBE monthly revenues have grown 4x to £147k*, we have shipped more than 165,000 products in June 2019 and more than 100,000 TRIBE members have participated in our events and challenges. The crowdfunding has been transformative for TRIBE; giving us money to grow, and a shareholder community that has supported us on every step of our journey.

Here are the top five moments since we last crowdfunded:

1. UK-first compostable energy bar

We believe in the Force of Nature, and our mission is to lead a revolution in performance nutrition by trusting nature. This means thinking about the (100% natural) ingredients we use, but also the wider environmental footprint of everything we do. This is why our shareholders voted to become 100% Vegan in March 2018 (more here), and that's why we launched the UK-first energy bar in compostable packaging; a wrapper you could bury in the ground and it will disintegrate in just six months. 2. TRIBE Protein Bar launch

We have spent a huge amount of time over the past two years in our kitchen in Snowdonia working on new TRIBE Protein bars, TRIBE Shakes and TRIBE Hydrate, among other ranges, and here's why:

  • Indulgence: We wanted to double down on taste
  • 100% Vegan: The TRIBE community voted to go 100% vegan in March 2018. The bars no longer contain honey.

In November 2018, we launched the three new indulgent protein bar flavours (Choc Brownie, Choc Peanut Butter and Coffee & Walnut). These are our best-tasting bars yet, and our customers seem to agree; TRIBE products score 9.7 out of 10 on Trustpilot.

3. Launch into Sainsbury's

In May 2019, we launched into 500 Sainsburys stores! To celebrate the launch we created a Mystery Challenge for our London community: 50 runners had 60 minutes to run around London in pairs and buy a TRIBE bar in as many of the supermarket stores they could find. It was a race against the clock in the pouring rain! Watch this 60 second video to see how they got on:

4. TRIBE Freedom Foundation raised £160k raised in the last year

The first Run for Love in 2013 raised funds to set up the first home for trafficked children. Our community set up a registered charity, the TRIBE Freedom Foundation, to continue our fight against modern day slavery. In the last two years, thousands of members of the TRIBE community have fundraised for our mission. Watch this video to see our community take on the Hackney Half Marathon as part of the TRIBE 10% Project in May 2018.

5. Run for Love 3!

We were inspired by a 1,000 mile run to fight human trafficking called Run for Love. In January 2019, we launched Run for Love 3, a 280km ultra-marathon over six days in the Azores, Portugal. Watch this and see why. We still have some spare places for the Volcanoes Half Marathon on 30 November 2019. Run with us and be part of our journey - triberunforlove.com/volcanoes.

2020 and beyond

We are so excited for everything that is to come, and are proud that our shareholders have been part of every step of our journey. Watch this space for some very exciting announcements about TRIBE's international launch and new TRIBE Ranges coming over the Summer.
