Crowdcube powering league of SportsTech startups at London’s brand new Sport Tech Hub

By Crowdcube. 17th Aug 2017

London’s brand new Sport Tech Hub is a dedicated sports innovation hotbed that will be supporting early-stage tech startups looking to change the lives of 1 million Londoners by propelling more physical activity. Hot off the press, this new Hub represents the UK’s first facility dedicated to innovation in the physical activity and sport sector. The Sport Tech Hub has a fresh programme for its chosen teams, created in collaboration with London & Partners, another one of Crowdcube’s valued Partners, that has proven success in backing Accelerator programmes like the successful TravelTechLab. The Sport Tech Hub is based in House of Sport, an impressive new purpose-designed 200-desk site also housing a range of sport organisations, including London Sport. House of Sport will also function as a dedicated co-working and events space designed to enhance sport sector collaboration in the capital, ensuring the Sport Tech Hub has access to creative thinking from the heart of the sport sector.

Crowdcube is thrilled to announce its partnership with London’s brand new Sport Tech Hub, which now creates an exciting platform for startups and entrepreneurs within the SportsTech space to access a wealth of knowledge, coaching and venture opportunities to take their socially-impactful ideas to the next level. Crowdcube offers Sport Tech Hub member teams the opportunity to continue their growth with larger sums of financing up to £5m in exchange for equity.

Alex Zurita, London Sport specialist in technology for participation, and a key figure in the development of Sport Tech Hub maintains that:

“Giving the entrepreneurs within the SportTech sector greater insights into funding options, compliments our commitment to support their growth journey beyond early stage, as they look to expand their options around scaling and creating even more impact beyond the mandate of the Sport Tech Hub programme”.

Through this relationship, Crowdcube’s Equity Coaches will plug into the Sport Tech Hub’s 24 week learning programme, with Venture Labs, to host workshops and Founder Talks. This new partnership is in line with our vision of helping the teams behind early-stage businesses across a range of sectors to get access to value-add resources in order to execute smart venture strategies. Sport Tech Hub network will benefit from hands-on learning sessions that shine light on ways to strategically tap into the largest equity investor base in Europe, alongside powerful VC networks and angel investors.

Exclusive Partnership Perks:

  • Discount on Crowdcube fees when Sport Tech Hub companies successfully fund on the Crowdcube platform

  • Bespoke mentoring, Venture Labs and content for Sport Tech Hub companies

  • Events and Founder Talks with more exciting announcements to come!
