Tribal Clash is a team race format fusing obstacle racing, endurance sports and fitness racing. With beach events in the UK and in Portugal, Tribal Clash is raising capital to support growth into a 15-event global competition series. New events planned for Australia and USA in 2019.
Tribal Clash is a team race format designed for the global functional fitness market. Functional training is now a mainstream fitness trend, catapulted by the growth of CrossFit worldwide. CrossFit has grown in just 15 years from an underground training programme to a global network of 14,000 affiliate gyms.
Tribal Clash was launched in 2013 on a remote beach in Devon, UK. The competition has grown from 400 athletes in 2013 to 1248 athletes in 2017. In 2017 Tribal Clash Portugal was launched in Algarve, and team entries to Tribal Clash Portugal 2018 sold out with 132 teams competing.
Tribal Clash offers a professional, intensive and elite-level athlete experience for amateur athletes, distinct from 'bucket list' challenges done 'for fun'. The teams compete in a purpose-built arena on the beach, tackling various timed physical challenges fusing obstacle racing, strongman events, endurance racing and functional fitness. The results-driven competition drives repeat participation. Tribal Clash aims to be the defining brand of a new competitive sport: team fitness racing.
