The problem
The benefits of nature, plants and gardening to our environment and our health has never been more widely recognised, but we think there is a lack of brands that appeal to the next generation of consumers.
We are on a mission to make plants and gardening more accessible than ever and in the most sustainable way possible.
Creating tomorrow’s garden retailer
The Stem is aiming to create a best-in-class experience as customers shop and explore content on our custom-made website and receive orders hand-delivered with scheduled deliveries.
We are growing a community of plant lovers with access to ongoing plant care advice and serving inspirational, impactful and educational content across channels.
Sustainability is a founding principle with deliveries in electric vans, minimal packaging and a tree planted for every order among other initiatives.
Since the launch of our new website in Mar 2020, we have scaled to a monthly revenue of over £80k in Jan (£1k EBITDA) vs Q4: £130k revenue (-£35k EBITDA), with compound monthly revenue growth of 34%. We have delivered over 7,880 orders to 6,800 customers, and are one of the UK's top rated garden retailers with a 97% NPS and a customer rating of 4.97/5.
What next
With our clear focus, we are going to continue expanding our product categories and catchment area, building our team and brand, developing our content platform and supply chain.
