KegTracker is a first-to-market IoT device that instantly turns kegs into smart containers. It tracks real-time location, volume, temperature and motion for each keg, to create reports & insights that enable a sustainable supply chain. Since 2018 R&D has been completed, as well as a working prototype, pending patent and multiple LOIs.
Kegs are everywhere! Rolling around city streets, dwelling beneath pub floors. We barely notice them, but tend to appreciate the content they deliver. And the numbers agree. We estimate that draught beer sales exceeded £10B in the UK last year, and 8M kegs were needed to meet demand. Unlike cans and bottles which are single-use, kegs can be reused for years and are the most important asset in the supply chain.
Lack of transparency, however, makes managing the keg a challenge. From the contents of the container to the exact treatment of the keg - limited visibility equals limited control. Thus, we created KegTracker, an IoT device that empowers brewers, distributors and pubs with real-time keg location, volume, temperature and motion, to improve the beer you drink and reduce supply chain inefficiencies.
Estimates show annual industry losses of £1.4bn+ in theft and spoilage, £1bn+ in poor distribution, and £500m+ in suboptimal production and lost containers. We can drastically reduce these numbers and create a less wasteful and more harmonious future for the industry at large.
We have a working prototype, a patent filed and letters of interest from leading UK breweries, coffee roasters and Wales NHS. In 2019, we were featured in Startups Magazine and finalists for FutureFood Awards, London & Partners BGP, and [email protected]
