Set to open their first site in November: The Rattle is a music industry co-working business, providing specialist co-working space and studio facilities for entrepreneurs, artists and tech makers in the music community. The team have already built a network around the plan and pipeline of members.
The Rattle is a music industry co-working business, and we plan to open our first site in November 2017.
As the old record industry gives way to new technology, artists increasingly ‘startup’ as music companies. They embrace technology to create music then turn their art into creative startups. This new generation of 'music entrepreneur' is rapidly transforming how the industry works - and we are yet to find a home for this new community to 'start up' under one roof.
That’s The Rattle - a network of inspirational co-working spaces for artists, tech makers, and entrepreneurs to develop amazing new music, tech, and to collaborate from the very get-go of their careers. Each member is curated for talent and the drive to turn their passion into a creative startup.
The Rattle was founded in January 2017 by MIT technology entrepreneur and former Techstars Entrepreneur in residence, Chris Howard, Ph.D, and acclaimed music producer, writer & major-label performer Bobby Bloomfield.
Since founding, we have built a network of 80+ artist, music biz, tech, and tech investors across London - including Imogen Heap, Cliff Fluet (Warner Music), Steve Lewis (Virgin Music), Karl Neilson (Goldie), and Mark Stevenson. We have also built a pipeline of over 100 potential members for our first Rattle, and secured the location for Rattle 1: Tobacco Dock, in East London.
