The Muff Liquor Company sold 24,000 bottles in its first 14 months, won gold at the World Gin Masters competition in Hong Kong & secured listings with one of the largest drinks distributors to the UK. It seeks to expand its presence in Asia where the craft spirits market will have a compound annual growth rate of 5.4%.
The Muff Liquor Company is named after the village Muff in Co. Donegal, Ireland. We founded the company in 2017 following an idea to produce premium craft spirits using a potato base. Our spirits are distilled 6 times: once more than some premium spirits.
In February 2018 we launched our craft potato gin, followed by our potato vodka. We sold 24,000 bottles in our first 14 months & won numerous blind tasting competitions, including Gold at the WSWA exposition in Las Vegas & Gold at Asian Gin Masters in Hong Kong. We gained attention from BBC Radio One’s Chris Stark who travelled to Muff to feature us, gaining 400,000+ hits on social media.
In December 2018, the All Ireland Business Foundation awarded us the Business All-Star Accreditation, in recognition of our success.
We're exploring options for a distribution deal for Hong Kong, Australia, NZ & Dubai. The Asia Pacific spirit sector is projected to have a compound annual growth rate of 5.4% and we will focus on the Asian market for both duty-free and retail in the next year.
Globally, the craft spirits market is expected to reach USD 80.43 billion by 2025 according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. This is driven by millenials who are willing to trade quantity for quality, seeking spirits made in small batches like ours.
We want to facilitate growth in Asia, where we believe the future is for craft spirits.
