Brainchild of a 'super-agent', the Fans Agency is the modern football agency: part-owned by fans, a focus on players, supporting grassroots and offering a proportion of its fees for purchase and trade. Investment will aim to source players, create a trading platform and market the idea.
This idea has been a long time coming. Working as one of the industry's most successful football agents for over 25 years, Jon Smith (one of our founders and ex-agent to Maradona and the England National Football team) has always felt that fans were missing out. The lifeblood of the game should have more of a say, should be more involved, should own a part of the game.
The Fans Agency aims to get fans involved in the business of the football agency. This isn't normal - but we believe it's the future and we're ready to set it up. We will be transparent with our fees, and aim to plough a proportion of our revenue back in to the grassroots and truly nurture our players' careers. And we'll do it with the fans.
We want true fans to own 20% of our agency (the equity on offer), meaning they will be part of finding the next generation of talent, part of the business of football, and the potential financial success. What's more - we're aiming to offer all fans the opportunity to buy and trade 'shares' in player revenues (from a proportion of our agency fees), an activity which, in itself, could create extra revenue for our shareholders.
