The conventional meat industry is under criticism for unsustainable practices. With £1.37M in revenue to date, The Ethical Butcher is looking to challenge the meat industry by bringing low-emission quality meat from ethically raised stock to households across the UK via next day delivery.
Our mission to create positive disruption in the meat industry is our answer to increasing concerns around its effects on the environment, our health and animal welfare. Eating meat should not cost the earth and we believe we have the solution. By implementing holistic farming practices, it is possible to produce meat in a natural way that can help to combat climate change & produce tastier & healthier meat.
We have won a number of Great Taste Awards including Top 50 Foods in UK & Ireland. With 200 monthly orders from our restaurant clients with an average price of nearly £350 per invoice in 2017, we have earned a revenue of almost £1.4mil with an operating profit of £98k.
To keep up with the consumer shift in the meat industry, we only work with PFLA certified farmers who feed their animals on a natural diet without the use of hormones or antibiotics. We are planning to provide the farmers with holistic land management training, helping them to produce high quality, low-emission meat.
In 2019 we aim to:
- Expand & increase our B2B revenue
- Launch our online B2C platform & provide households across the UK with cut-to-order nationwide delivery of the most ethically raised, sustainable, high-quality meat.
We intend to raise the bar with our B2C offering so that consumers can trust that the meat they buy is from 100% grass-fed stock & prepared by professional, artisan butchers.
