Demand for plant-based food is seeing huge growth; according to an Ipsos MORI survey commissioned by the Vegan Society, the number of vegans in Great Britain quadrupled between 2014 and 2018. According to a report commissioned by Waitrose, a third of Britons have now stopped or reduced their meat consumption.
Stem + Glory is positioned in the Vegan market as a brand offering an accessible but more gastronomic plant-based. The Stem + Glory customer base includes not only people converting to a 100% vegan diet, but also those labelling themselves as ‘flexitarian’ -health-conscious individuals who appreciate the health and environmental benefits that plant-based eating can bring.
Following the Stem + Glory 2018 Crowdcube raise, which reached its target in less than 6 hours, the London flagship was successfully delivered within 9 months.
Funds from this round will be used to further improve and grow the new flagship location in Central London, as well as develop the brand for a wider national rollout.
