The Gaff is a relaxed, informal, small-plate restaurant set up and run by a team from a Michelin star restaurant. Included in the 2020 Good Food Guide, they are now raising for their second site in Bath.
Steam Ahead is looking to become an independent restaurant group, driven by a desire to serve high-quality food in a relaxed environment.
The Restaurant Performance Index indicated in May 2019 that this is a time for growth for restaurants, especially with the style of cuisine we offer. Small-plate menus are considered the fourth biggest restaurant concept trend of 2019, which is the style of cuisine we offer.
We opened our first restaurant, The Gaff, in May 2019. The Gaff is Irish slang for home, so it suits our concept is to serve great food in contemporary, comfortable surroundings, with relaxed, friendly service.
Our approach has clearly resonated, as within four months, were The Gaff was included in The Good Food Guide 2020, alongside fantastic reviews, plus a number of food bloggers, such as Kavita Favelle at ‘Kavey Eats’
Our good customer ratings including over 87% 5-star rating on Res Diary and over 75% excellent rating on TripAdvisor, allow us to attract more customers.
We are raising to open a second premises in Bath. The new restaurant will have its own individual stamp on it, a different name, and a different decor but still with the same approach and ethos to The Gaff and the personal touch of the owners.
