Elizabeth Henley® Ltd is developing the world's first known smart window shutter. With microprocessor technology, the product will be designed to automatically close the shutters at dusk, and turn LED switches on to offer mood lighting in a room. An empty house would look occupied from the outside.
The UK shutter market has seen a five-fold rise in popularity since the start of the century, but we believe there is a lack of premier window shutter products available. To date the market tends to consist of shutters identical in design, of poor quality and often imported from China. Meanwhile, the home automation market is growing fast, with functionality for lights, locks, heating, blinds and doors controlled via wifi and smartphones.
Smart-Tilt® is a premier window shutter that will be controlled via a microprocessor. Our brand, Elizabeth Henley, aims to cover the middle and higher end of the market with two products - Easytilt® (the manual lever version) and Smart-tilt® (the powered version).
Beginning in 2018, we secured design patents on the shutter, wingtip®, an inlay profile and a license agreement with Apple, becoming the first known shutter producer to become compatible. We began soft promotion in November last year with positive feedback via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
We've attracted interest from customers in the UK, USA, Dubai, Europe and Australia, with developers considering our product for projects in London.
We see potential to license or sell Smart-tilt as a leading premier smart shutters. We have received positive international feedback via social media channels. Investment will further develop the prototype and purchase tooling & machinery.
