Idea

Scoop magazine launched Sept 2016 as an alternative to the screen, to inspire children's' imagination, knowledge and creativity - to be shared and loved by children, parents and grandparents. Scoop aims to provoke curiosity in subjects from punk to feminism, night skies to contemporary art, via a mixture of formats: comics, reviews, articles, stories, games, profiles, competitions.

The core of Scoop will always be a printed magazine but we also publish a digital version through partners on Amazon Kindle and are in early-stage talks to develop audio and podcast content for Spring 2020.

Achievements to date:

- Worked with world-renowned authors/illustrators inc. Tom Stoppard, Malorie Blackman, Tom Whipple, Jacqueline Wilson, Caleb Femi, Neil Gaiman, Piers Today, Celia Rees

- Sold in 100+ stockists, inc. the Tate, Daunt Books, Barnes & Noble.

- Worked with leading UK literacy charities inc. CLPE, the National Literacy Trust, Give a Book, Beanstalk, Love Reading.

- Grown a customer base in 43 countries inc. Australia, India, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, USA.

We are raising funds to bring Scoop to 5.3 million UK children of our target ages via further marketing and formats, and aim to expand internationally to inspire and educate children learning English. By 2022 we are targetting 10,000 UK subscribers and 4000 overseas, seeking additional revenue via audio and publisher partnerships.
