Customers love experiences ‒ especially Millennials. The food and beverage industry has capitalised on this trend with innovative new food, alcohol, coffee and soft drink products. Tea, however, has lagged behind.
Roqberry is speciality tea developed for foodies who like to ‘blend the rules’. We challenge traditional tea categories with our range of uniquely-flavoured, award-winning tea blends, mixed by hand in the UK and offered in biodegradable pyramid teabags and sustainable packaging.
The market appears perfectly ripe for our offering. In 2017, UK customers spent £317m on speciality teas and this is expected to grow. Speciality tea is forecasted to outpace standard black tea by 2021, growing at a CAGR of 8.8% between 2016-2021 and resulting in £435m sales in 2021, while green tea is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17.5% between 2016-2021.
We have built our ecommerce website and begun selling through Amazon.co.uk, as well as securing listings with a number of high-end distributors. In the pipeline are other retailers, food and beverage chains, and a major hotel.
Now we’re looking to scale our B2C and B2B sales by hiring a new ops and account manager, developing our marketing to continue building the brand, and supporting our retail listings and product development.
