Launched in 2016 Moody Burgers has two bricks and mortar sites and delivers restaurant-quality burgers directly to customers via their online ordering system. They are now raising investment to expand their delivery service and to launch two additional Moody Burger sites.
The takeaway food market is worth £9.9bn and is growing– spend has increased by 34% since 2009. Growth has been helped by aggregators such as JustEat and Delveroo.
We created Moody after noticing a gap in the market for quality Californian inspired Burgers that we could deliver to our customer's homes. In 2016, burgers entered the top 10 takeaway chart at number 9. Moody offers a credible alternative to pizza and Chinese in a market that is in growth. This presents our opportunity, with a category that is growing.
We have created a menu featuring 13 Burgers, sides, Loaded fries, wings, shakes and desserts. Contracts are in place with JustEat and Deliveroo. We also have 12,000 customers in our own database and 6,200 followers on social media. Our website has generated £200k of sales to date with total sales of £416k (EBITDA of £7.5k) from 2 sites. Swindon opened on September 16 and Worcester on March 17.
Swindon successfully moved to larger premises late last month, creating 80 dine with us seats and allowing us to sell cocktails and craft beer, deliveries are up 20%.
We believe we have developed an exciting relevant brand, built our website, secured supply partners and overcome the technical issue of delivering hot food to our customers
We believe this is the right idea at the right time with a huge opportunity for growth. Even better our customer love what we do.
