Miller & Marc is a digital-first eyewear brand that sells designer high-quality prescription glasses and sunglasses at competitive prices. The company offers a Direct2Consumer distribution through their online and retail stores. They plan to aggressively scale its optical stores.
We started in 2016 to solve a clear problem: High-quality prescription glasses are too expensive.
We offer an alternative. By cutting out the middleman, designing glasses in-house and selling to consumers directly, we´re able to offer designer eyewear at up to half the regular market price. Additionally, we have a focus on social responsibility; for every sale, a book is distributed to children in need.
The global eyewear market is expected to grow at 7.5% per annum between 2018 and 2024. We've achieved a unique positioning on a €2,08bn Spanish eyewear market and our vision is to become one of the largest Direct2Consumer eyewear brands in Europe.
We grew purely online for one year since launching in 2016 and were able to succeed in an omnichannel distribution after the openings of Madrid store in 2017. Thanks to the last raise on Crowdcube, we were able to successfully open another store in Barcelona this year, integrate a customised ERP with our website and recruit talent to grow our team. This funding will go to secure our brand positioning in the Spanish market with the aim of opening 3 new stores during 2019.
Net sales have grown from €328k in 2017 (+21K EBITDA) to €514k in 2018 (+21k EBITDA).
