Meters by Ashdown Engineering create a new range of headphones and home connected audio devices with the aim to bring together lifestyle and audiophile aspirations in one package. The company is seeking investment to expand the brand globally.

We benefit from the expertise of Ashdown Engineering, a linked family-run business and globally renowned manufacturer of bass guitar amplification since 1997 and we work with some of the biggest names in music industry, from U2’s Adam Clayton to Biffy Clyro; artists who rely upon our knowledge of sound and the ability to replicate it on a daily basis.
Meters Music launched in 2016, and within our first 6 months of trading we shipped over 15,000 units, establishing 38 export markets from Indonesia to Hong Kong. Revenue to y/e Feb 2018 was £712k (£12k net profit). Our website has generated over £80k in direct sales to 400 customers, with over 75,000 web visits per month across the Meters and Ashdown sites.
The global headphone market is $12bn, growing at over 10% p.a, with the installed base of connected audio over $20 billion, growing c. £5bn/year.
We believe the demand for Meters products demonstrates customers want more from audio equipment and are willing to pay for quality. We now seek funds to:
- Finish our new headphone range
- Implement strategic global marketing plans - focus on direct sales and NEW customer acquisition
- Employ a dedicated Sales Director from within the consumer audio market
- Complete first pre-production run of the M-PAS range (orders already received).
