Lone Design Club runs disruptive pop-up stores for independent fashion designers - underpinned by an e-commerce platform and community, using a unique, lean business model. Tried and tested, having generated over £140k in direct revenue in the year to July 19, now expanding online and overseas.
Lone Design Club champions independent designers, so they can focus on creating unique and sustainable fashion. Demand for responsible fashion is growing. However, fast fashion and the dying high street makes it harder than ever for independent designers and brands to reach customers. LDC solves this problem.
Our platform connects designers with customers through pop-up in-store experiences in prime city locations, and an online community and store. Our Accelerator supports designers to grow their business. The 1one Club provides top customers with unique opportunities to engage with our brands.
We have multiple revenues: designer fees, commission, events and sponsorship. Our pop-up model means flexibility. We don’t hold stock, have no bad sales months, low product returns, and build relationships between designers, customers and LDC.
We’ve supported 200+, with over 30% returning within a year. Customer instore purchases per square foot grew over 210% to £577. Average in-store basket size grew by 65% in 2019 to £120. Revenue reached £141k in FY '19 (£-83K Profit) We expanded internationally to Milan in 2018, with Shanghai and pan-UK planned.
Current investors include prior Head of Digital at Selfridges, tech entrepreneurs, and designers. This investment round will let us grow store days by 250%, and scale online by hiring more staff to fuel our growth.
