Koy's vision is to create an African inspired clothing brand that is known worldwide for supporting sustainable enterprise and cultural recognition. The company was founded by two brothers who were raised in Kenya and educated in the UK and have a passion to give back to the country they grew up in
We take classic, smart-casual clothing & add a twist to make it unique, fun & meaningful.
Our garments are either made entirely out of “Kikoy” fabric (An authentic African cloth), or combine subtle yet eye-catching touches of Kikoy with more traditional, high-quality fabrics like linen, cotton or wool.
Koy Clothing has a strong mission to support indigenous cultures of Kenya through luxury fashion & each of our products has a story. Each colour of Kikoy is named after a Kenyan tribe, & 5% of sales go to projects within those communities.
Launching in '17 as a menswear brand, we've now developed to introduce womenswear in '19. We sell to adults looking for high-quality ethical fashion & appreciate something a bit out of the ordinary.
To date, we've focused growth with sales via our website as well as pop-up shops at sporting/lifestyle events. 2019 will see the introduction of wholesale & 3rd party e-tail platforms & the growth of our current channels as momentum continues & is boosted by increased product range & strategic digital marketing.
Web sales have grown 244% in '18-19 to date to £12,863 & total revenue in '18 was £103,725 (Operating loss of £107,137).
We're raising funds for product design/development to expand the product range & increase marketing. Our focus is to maintain creativity & innovation to uphold value to our current customer base & acquire new customers.
