Homefans is an online platform hosting small group football trips and experiences across the world. Allowing travellers to experience football beyond 90 minutes with local storytellers. Having hosted over 2500 travellers from 40+ countries, with revenue up to £650k and aiming to expand globally.
We started Homefans back in 2016 to solve a problem we had ourselves: we wanted to experience football all around the world, but the process of organising everything was painful, and we were often watching the matches on our own rather than with locals.
There is more than just watching a football match or a sporting event. It’s an experience beyond 90 minutes. With Homefans, you’ll not only feel like a local anywhere, but you will find yourself enjoying a unique football experience along with a group of international like-minded people. After overfunding in our first round in 2017, we’ve grown by more than 300%, launched a new online platform and built the very foundations for growth.
The Market
The global sports travel industry is an est. £470 billion market, comprising 10% of the international tourism industry. More than 4 out of 10 people consider themselves football fans and in the UK alone, 686,000 travellers visited a top-flight football club and spent £555m in the 2016-17 season. We want to capture a share of the global spending on the experiential economy, expected to reach est £6.4 trillion by 2028, and have a goal of achieving global growth.
Use of Funds
We will use funds to develop our match day experiences, expand our offering in the next months and increase our marketing efforts to promote our trips and experiences on a global scale.
