The first known gingerbread recipe was first baked in Greece in 2400BC, and over the last 4000 years it has become a popular confectionery product all over the world, especially in Europe, USA and China.
Hawkens Gingerbread is an artisan bakery of gingerbread products that are rich in heritage, high in quality, diverse and delicious. Our customers recognise the heritage of our brand and products and buy Hawkens Gingerbread as ideal gifting solutions for celebration events like Valentines Day, Easter, Mothers Day and birthdays.
We have spent 3 years in a start-up phase and now target a 3-year phase of stage 1 growth. We estimate our facility can currently bake 80,000 gingerbread units per month and we are consistently delivering a 65% average gross profit margin since 2017 across our B2B and B2C markets. We've been growing for 3 years: in the financial year ending in April 2018 we generated £21k revenue (£8.7k profit) and in FY 2019 revenue grew 108% to £43k (£25k profit). We are consistently growing the number of outlets that stock our products and aim to supply 500 outlets by November 2019. Our online sales are showing strong movement in the upwards direction.
