Premium English honey brand Haughton Honey supplies over 70 regional sales outlets as well as The Protein Works and the supermarket chain Booths and is now looking to develop a set of branded, honey-related food products and also expand across the UK.
Haughton Honey packs and sells raw English honey produced by ourselves and other commercial bee farmers. The Business also supplies other food and drink manufacturers with honey as an ingredient for their own products. The total UK food and drink retail market is worth £112bn as a whole and within that UK sales in the jams, spreads and honey sector is worth £334m per annum.
At the end of 2015, the honey market alone within the UK was worth £119.5m per annum, with healthy annual growth. UK sales of jams, spreads and honey grew 5.9% in the year up to October 2015 with growth in honey sales increasing by £9.8m year-on-year (all figures from Kantar Worldpanel 52 w/e 11 October 2015). We've established over 70 regional sales outlets mainly across the North West and Midlands regions, as well as recently won our first premium supermarket customer, Booths, who began stocking Haughton Honey at the beginning of April 2016.
During March 2016 we were initially asked to supply our product to The Protein Works, a large sports nutrition brand owned by Alliance Boots, which recently saw the launch of a co-branded Cashew Butter Luxe product containing Haughton Honey. Further honey-based product launches are due this year. In the past year we've also had some great mainstream PR exposure, including profiling in The Guardian newspaper and Jamie Oliver, Natural Health, Vegetarian Living, Great British Food and Choice magazines.
