Delivering grass fed, free range meat boxes to over 4,500 active subscription customers, field&flower have become a trusted retailer of ethical meat, sustainable fish & cheese. Profitable with 16/17 revenue of £2.7m, they are now looking to expand their reach and become a major online food retailer
The problem
Where does your meat come from and how is it produced? With so much uncertainty about the provenance of meat in UK supermarkets it can be hard to know whether you’re eating responsibly reared produce.
The solution
At field&flower we believe everyone should know exactly where their meat comes from. As farmers ourselves we're aware of the differing standards of meat on sale in the UK, which is why we set out to provide ethically farmed meat that tastes exceptional. Every month we deliver thousands of grass fed, free range meat boxes to households all over the UK. Each cut we deliver is completely traceable from field to fridge, as our meat is sourced from trusted farmers who use the same traditional methods that we do.
Our success so far
Seven years after founding we employ 15 people, sell over 200 products, and have delivered to over 19,000 households. We've won several awards, including multiple Taste of the West Gold Awards, and have even made a delivery to Buckingham Palace. We've added new products to our selection, including line-caught fish, cheese and charcuterie. We're excited about our growth and that of the UK online grocery market, which is expected to be worth £17 billion by 2019. We want to capitalise on this and bring our boxes to even more customers. Our goal is to deliver over 500,000 boxes by 2020 and become a major online retailer for meat and fish.
