CoinMode is a payments platform designed specifically for computer games, an industry worth $137 billion Per Annum and growing 13% yoy. They seek to leverage the power of blockchain to allow games producers to take payments from players without disrupting gameplay in a seamless experience.
The Computer Games industry is bigger than Film and Music combined. It is also an industry well supported by the Government. The business models used in most games is restricted because the payment systems used are inflexible, expensive and not fit for purpose. We have developed the base technology to fix this.
CoinMode will allow Game producers to create in-game economies by allowing player-to-game, player-to-player and game-to-player payments..
We are intending to launch with three use cases. ‘Pro-Mode’, ‘Tournament Mode’ and ‘In-Game purchase’. Pro-Mode will allow players to play each other directly for money. Tournament Mode will allow players to add in to a pot in a tournament with the winners collecting the pot. In Game purchase Mode will allow players to purchase digital assets in the game itself. Other features will include a programmable logic layer so game producers can write their own game logic and associate payments with that logic.
In 2018, we started working with industry respected game studios to test the product and ensure that the functionality we are delivering is wanted by them and the industry.
We plan to use this Crowdcube investment to ramp-up the development team, pay for finalisation of the e-money licence and get the current use-cases into production. It will also be used to onboard, integrate and launch new clients.
