Idea

Chimney Fire Coffee is a speciality coffee roasting brand with an active ethical focus, born from founder Dan's experience working in coffee and cocoa traceability. Supplying 50 outlets, hosting tasting experiences and exhibiting at consumer events, we have spent two years testing product quality and have developed a range of coffees to suit all tastes, from full bodied espresso blends to more complex filter options.

We have recently identified an opportunity to target consumers within the office space, enabling employees to club together and contribute to a fund, which is then converted to coffee, and delivered as and when required.

We know that there is an increased demand for ethical, high quality food and drink products and although traditional office kitty's exist, there is no digital version specifically focussing on speciality coffee. On average 25 per cent of coffee is consumed at work or while studying – that’s over 23 million cups a day in the workplace and a potential reach of 10 million office workers in the UK.

The Office Coffee Club platform has been tested in 10 offices to date with encouraging feedback on the flexibility of the service, quality of the coffee, and price through creating a B2C offering at B2B volumes yet able to maintain a 63% gross margin. We are aiming to create 4,000 office coffee clubs within the next 5 years.
