Dynamic start up that's gone from a garage to being known as The Oxford Beer in the last 8 months. With 100+ stockists & sales tripling between 2017-18, Chadlington Brewery produce popular Oxfordshire beers with iconic brands such as Boat Race Lager & Oxford Blue Ale. They plan to double capacity in 2019
In 2016 friends set out to create The Oxford Beer and an environmentally aware brewery using pure Oxfordshire spring water in the heart of the Cotswolds. In parallel they thought about how to celebrate Oxfordshire and secured the rights to the globally iconic names such as Boat Race, Oxford Blue, Oxford Old Blue and Oxford Blonde. They started small with sleeves rolled up utilising years of brewery experience to develop beers with genuine provenance and identity. We tested the market with small contract batch brews, hand labelling bottles and delivering in a mini.
Moving forward to 2019, sales tripled to £46,917 in 2018 (operating loss of £154,624), we built our new brewery and outlets increased to over 100, including retailers such as Oddbins & major hotels/venues in Oxford. We are also the official beer of Oxfordshire County Cricket. In 2019 we plan to start exporting to key markets for the brand, and your investment will help us triple our production capacity.
We also plan to build our new tap room next to the brewhouse in the heart of the Cotswolds, with stunning views. We are centrally located between Wilderness and Cornbury festivals and The Big Feastival, attracting up to 60,000 visitors. The Cotswolds enjoy 1m visitors annually and Oxford a further 7m. This will enable us to become a key attraction and venue driving additional revenues and customer experience.
