Idea

The first Carbon Black wheelchair launched in 2012. Press and customers alike were impressed by its radically different look to traditional wheelchairs as it is constructed in a using super lightweight carbon fibre. As the chair was a dramatic move away from more traditional wheelchairs there was a significant cost attached to manufacturing and purchasing a chair - meaning it was financially out of reach for the majority of wheelchair users. The company's vision is to find a means by which we could bring the chair to a much wider audience without sacrificing either looks, build quality or user benefits.

For the past 18 months we have been designing parts, sourcing materials and securing patents for our chairs in the UK, Europe and US. In May 2018 we launched Carbon Black II at a starting price of £3,995, bringing it firmly into line with - and in many cases lower than - competitor prices in the premium manual wheelchair market. This creates a clear & exciting opportunity to really gain some traction in the market for such a unique and desirable product.

We are now raising investment to bring Carbon Black to a much wider community. The investment will be used to roll out across our key markets of the UK, US and Germany, make further innovative developments to our chair and establish our distribution.

The company has loans.
