Scratch-cooking connoisseurs offering a range of authentic curry products already on shelf in major retailers such as Wholefoods and Morrisons with over 100,000 curries sold to date. Investment is being sought to increase work-force and support marketing for growth.
BANG! Curry was launched by Shelly Nuruzzaman and Mark Johnson to connect people with authentic food. Inspired by traditional recipes and cooking techniques from Shelly's family, both in Bangladesh and the UK, BANG! Curry offers a range of quick, easy and healthy, scratch-cooking products.
Curry cooking products haven't changed much over the years and consumers are met with a lack of authenticity. BANG! Curry connects the ‘home cooking’ community with authentic curry meals, quickly and easily, operating in the UK market where 89% of people eat world food.
A growing dominance for scratch-cooking products that offer authentic ethnic flavours, is being seen. The UK ethnic food market is worth £1.77b (2018) consisting of ready meals, sauces and cooking ingredients. Sales in this sector attributed to cooking ingredients are rising YOY by 8% to £535M, an indicator that scratch cooking is becoming increasingly popular.
The business has developed a brand through a very small team, with listings in Morrisons, Wholefoods Market and Lakeland. The business has sold over 100,000 products and has a growing online community of over 8,500.
A recent rebrand and new website means investment can be focused on:
- Building a sales team to accelerate growth
- Increased UK and global marketing
- Working capital to support growth
