  • Award-winning brand curated by Kastner London

Idea

At Anspach & Hobday, we aim to brew and curate a better beer experience through a mix of classic styles and modern beers.

The Porter leads our range (RateBeer Global Top 50 Porters) alongside The Pale, The IPA, The Lager, The Smoked Brown and The Cream Ale, complemented by seasonal, experimental and collaborative beers, such as The Story Saison (with Michelin star Restaurant Story), The Grapes (with Renegade Wines), & The ESB (with Fuller’s).

The UK craft beer sector is growing 7.3% annually (May 2018); so are we with 50% YOY wholesale growth (from £195k in 2017 to £294k in 2018, overall EBITDA -£50.9k). Rapidly approaching capacity, we are fundraising to triple production and expand our retail presence.

Founded in 2012 by Paul Anspach & Jack Hobday, we now employ 8 full-time staff. We produce Keg, Casks, Bottle and are moving onto Cans. This year we've brewed 55 distinctive styles: from traditional brews for Oktoberfest to specials like The Citrus Wheat.

Alongside independent businesses, UK accounts include Oddbins, Fuller’s Estate, with orders lined up from Majestic Wine & JD Wetherspoon. We export widely: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Spain & USA.

Our taproom and beers feature in: Lonely Planet, Qantas Air magazine, Metro, Evening Standard, FT, Mail on Sunday, Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, TimeOut, BBC Radio 2.
