Aardvark's mission is to make pet ownership sustainable. They have developed food for dogs & cats that uses insects as the protein source. With features in The Times & on Sky News, they've already acquired 2k customers since launch. They're raising to scale marketing efforts & introduce new products.
The environmental footprint of pet food remains an untold story. A quarter of the environmental damage associated with the meat industry comes from our pets.
The planetary impact of our pets will become increasingly recognised in the coming decade. While there has been a rapid growth in plant-based eating habits in the West, we feel pet food has lagged behind. In the same way that Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat disrupted human foods, we believe Aardvark is positioned to help create significant change within the pet food sector.
At Aardvark, we’ve developed one of the UK’s first insect-based pet food for both dogs and cats. Our protein uses considerably less methane per kg when compared to beef and uses far less water and land area.
Since launching in May 2021we’ve picked up significant momentum, having been featured in The Times and on Sky News, plus we've already sold our pet food to 2000+ customers. We’re now looking to scale up with an aim to capture a portion of the global industry worth $72B.
We’re raising funds with the aim of bringing to market products we feel our pet parents want and need (wet food and supplements). We’re also raising to scale up marketing efforts and to develop our C-Suite executive team.
