Idea

A Rule of Tum Group is an independent restaurant group, focused on delivering outstanding food in amazing spaces.

The group runs Burger Shop Hereford & Worcester, an events team, and The Bookshop Restaurant. The Bookshop is a British restaurant targeting produce-led dishes using organic vegetables and grass-fed steak, alongside attentive service. The Burger Shop is the group’s fun younger brother, still focused on exceptional food quality in a relaxed environment. A Rule of Tum Events is still in its infancy but growing.

When we started A Rule of Tum in 2013, we had no idea that what we had set out to do would resonate with so many people. A Rule of Tum has never been about creating a faceless chain; it’s about great food, individuality, building a community, and inspiring change.

Over the last five years, we’ve been constantly investing back into the business and our community; opening our restaurants to our annual food festival and reaching over 8000 visitors, leading to our highest annual turnover of £1.6 million to y/e March 2018 and £96k EBITDA.

We are now crowdfunding to take the business to the next level. We are generating capital with the aim to purchase and re-imagine our Hereford sites. We hope this will allow us to accelerate our plans to two more concepts by 2020: a butcher’s shop, and to open another restaurant space in Worcester.
